[00:09:58] you're into something and so that just becomes a gift that you get endlessly usually people are sick

[00:10:11] so i'm done with frog decor i'm that with the slime but it rules like two christmas is ago my wife

[00:10:42] texture and a really nice globe yes and he's sort of see through just like a real slime would be
[00:10:48] i have uh a little diorama of a she's slime and i'm and i'm one of the martial moles just this
[00:10:57] christmas you got me a huge slime plush that we use as a pillow and like i don't think i'm
[00:11:04] ever gonna get sick of getting slime memorabilia there they're i guess they're how many people

[00:12:57] disappear into the ether after doing art but uh he like we're talking truly global appeal they
[00:13:07] i love that uh i think it was in mexico where they sold tickets to the the fight at the end of
[00:13:13] the super tournament between Goku and Jiren yeah uh first of all you probably can't do that
[00:13:19] that's what everyone i mean probably i bet if like toei knew and it was in japan they'd like
[00:13:29] wag your finger but it's far away but but like that is the correct way to like it like you treat it
[00:13:36] like it's real mm-hmm i mean i think a good sort of way of putting it is can you think of any type
[00:13:44] of restaurant in any culture in any part of the world where it would not make sense to paint a
[00:13:54] painting of Goku cooking what they make there i love a good super sane takieira those are so important
[00:14:02] to me uh they it's just you're gonna eat fucking good food when you see Goku on there he's like

[00:16:03] story maybe there's a lot going on uh there's a lot i saw a diagram and there was like force fields
[00:16:10] can only go this way and i was like oh shit this is never gonna stick with me but here's
[00:16:17] the main thing is that it has a very sketchy like my sketchbookie sort of like field to it
[00:16:24] like it looks really cool but here's the thing when the fights happen and people got powers
[00:16:29] it's not fucking clear what's going on yeah uh i i i have tried to read jutsu kaisen a number of times
[00:16:36] and i always stop because i'm just like what the what am i fucking looking at like i remember
[00:16:42] especially uh i read tokyo gul a while back where there are ghouls and one of the things about ghouls
[00:16:49] is that they have a they have an additional organ yeah that is their combat tale that comes out of
[00:16:55] either their ass shoulder or back and based on yes based on where it comes out of your back
[00:17:02] there's like a pokemon chart uh like certain types are better than others uh every single
[00:17:08] fucking fight with the combat ghoul tales i had no idea what direction anyone was moving
[00:17:16] yeah uh when i read dragon ball the original manga again the best cartooning of all time
[00:17:22] my understanding of dragon ball was exclusively from it was something that i kind of saw but didn't
[00:17:27] really watch on a tsunami so like what do i know about dragon ball it's extremely slow paced
[00:17:34] there are a lot of beams occasionally they will cut to a awful pig man who they never explain
[00:17:40] who will not have anything to do the pig man is not relevant he got over the mouth thing fast just
[00:17:46] shut up and so when i read dragon ball and was experiencing what you're talking about which is like
[00:17:53] oh this is the great like this is why people like fighting in comic books it's because
[00:18:01] they're just all trying to point to this they're trying to make this again there was uh
[00:18:09] i don't know if it was engagement bit probably everything is engagement bit because it wants you
[00:18:13] to engage what do you think about it it was like a comparison of two panels one was Toriyama goku
[00:18:22] punching piccolo when he's like up to the elbow in his guts this was like in the
[00:18:28] the the the tournament at the end of regular dragon ball and then there was like i don't
[00:18:34] even remember some other man basically doing like the same thing but it had such a focus on the
[00:18:40] movement of going into him and it was like which one of these is clear and it's like are you stupid
[00:18:46] the like not only is goku so clearly like like up to his elbow in piccolo guts
[00:18:58] although there is no motion in the panel it is implying the second before you you're seeing
[00:19:03] what you're seeing it is so clear and i and like there are so many cases like that where
[00:19:10] everything that happens with punching and kicking is just clear with him
[00:19:16] i think it's time i mean we've been going on about how we love him but i want to get specific
[00:19:21] about like what is it about this man because everyone knows dragon ball you know it's a huge thing
[00:19:26] but when i get into the weeds like this the reason he's such a genius is because of you know
[00:19:30] the specific choices he makes that were all correct every single one of them everything we're
[00:19:35] gonna list is the best thing that you could ever do the first one uh is that there's a man who
[00:19:42] clearly loved as he should have loved and always draws as she should have always drawn uh

[00:22:00] power up as a spoof but like he's making you have that conversation he just left a just a
[00:22:12] a total yellow spiky hair thumbprint on the the DNA of the universe yes yes and like

[00:22:47] trigger and i'm like this guy's got goku hair and i didn't even know that it was the same guy i'm
[00:22:52] just like this guy they're goku hair huh uh it's just like immediately like oh this is perfect
[00:22:58] yeah and what is chrono's hair specifically it's uh normal gravity on super saying spike hair
[00:23:08] that is red and shiny like those are all like the toriama uh modifiers uh that he could put on
[00:23:15] hair and that's just what he is he's a type of goku uh there they're well i don't get ahead of
[00:23:21] ourselves but there are many gohans yes i want to say it another thing that is genius move
[00:23:28] some people criticize him for this i think that they are wrong headed is that he just draws
[00:23:33] as many gohans and bolmas as is humanly possible like if there's if you can throw a gohan or a
[00:23:39] bolma into your project he will do it and he's right to why stray from what you know is perfect
[00:23:47] if you are doing any project you should want a bolma or a gohan in it anyway like you should be
[00:23:54] making it as easy as you can for him to draw one of those and put them in there um but the i do not
[00:24:02] uh agree with the framing that like oh he's just going to draw gohan again and this is why i don't
[00:24:09] think it that's the correct way to look at it's because he's taken uh cartoon faces and he's
[00:24:16] solved them Tom why would you do anything else once you have the solution you stamp it everywhere

[00:26:01] shrink down anything you know the size of a pill and carry it with you that would for real make
[00:26:06] you the rich like there there's no doubt about it that is uh king of the universe money if elan
[00:26:13] came out with fucking capsules and they worked i'd have to be like god damn it
[00:26:18] yeah because the thing with a capsule is that you can set up an insane picnic packet

[00:27:11] he always puts in such an attention to detail and such a such an attention to the perspective

[00:27:27] read a quote from the curatoriama about the uh manga sandland that he did uh which famously
[00:27:37] involves a tubby round tank in a main capacity like there's so many little gears and little doors
[00:27:46] panels and shit uh it is the quote from a curatoriama in the year 2000 this was supposed to be a
[00:27:53] short simple manga about no man in a tank which i made for my own personal enjoyment uh
[00:28:00] i love that he immediately setting up the twist which is i hated this uh but the tank was harder
[00:28:05] to draw than i expected and i stubbornly insisted on drawing it all myself so i came to regret ever
[00:28:12] getting involved with it i'm not gonna read the rest that's the fun just like oh man

[00:29:49] emperor p-loff uh me and then there was a ninja that was a dog this is a world that offers a lot
[00:29:58] of opportunities for dogs these days what can a dog do heard it can heard it can guard and it can be
[00:30:07] a decorative animal uh it can be a pet in dragon ball world a dog can be a ninja or perhaps even a
[00:30:15] president and that's great and the list another thing that's great about toriam and we've mentioned
[00:30:21] this in the past we've been very anti-horny but we've carved out an exception for horny that is
[00:30:26] specific and a deliberate choice that is an artistic uh an artistic statements being made you know
[00:30:34] when it's just like here's some boobs it's very clear correct okay that's what we're trying to
[00:30:39] fucking say here when it's just like here's some boobs it's like this is a craven this is like

[00:51:53] the art direction and it's so generic it's the house style like it looks like so many other games
